Walking long distances on the weekend often has its rewards in Brooklyn. With new restaurants and events happening at a moments notice it’s easy to miss something. When stumbling upon Sister’s in Clinton Hill, the quaint decor immediate draws you in to at least glance at the menu. At first sight, you’ll surely assume this is another avo toast serving, shrimp and grits toting, decent brunch spot, but taking a closer look was rewarding. All I had to see was the word savory and I knew they had something different here. Savory french toast…hmm…chicken and waffle-esque I thought for sure, but worth a shot when you add brisket in the mix. This meal was the perfect mix of fine breakfast foods and good meat. I love french toast, but most people just aren’t doing it right. This place isn’t one of those people. I was skeptical about the cheese in this dish, but apparently syrup and cheese go well together when you know what the hell your doing. The most refreshing thing about this place was the decor and light and airy aesthetic. We honestly felt like we were on the west coast next to the beach. The sun shines perfectly through the skylights here and truly sets the mood.
